California inmates, officials and courts are all sounding warnings that prison overcrowding poses a growing danger and is undermining California's stated objective of rehabilitating inmates after they have served their time.

A report by Pew Charitable Trusts on Wednesday estimated the United States faces costs of up to $27.5 billion to handle its growing prison population over the next five years.

Prisoners often bemoan their fate. What is unusual in California is that complaints about overcrowding are coming from both sides of the prison bars.

"We have 172,000 prisoners in facilities designed to hold about 100,000," Gov.Arnold Schwarzenegger said last month.

"Our prison system is a powder keg. It poses a danger to the prisoners, a danger to officers, and a danger to the well-being of the public if ... we are forced to release prisoners because of overcrowding."

My own opinion is one I know is not popular, but I truly feel this is the only solution. Take anyone arrested on drug offenses only and turn them into state or private entity rehabilitation. Rather than putting possession arrests into prisons, build or use rehab buildings with medical care, take peoples insurance for non offenders, and rehab people who are arrested for possession only instead of jailing them. People with substance abuse problems should be treated and released.

This makes money, saves money and reduces prison populations. Take the criminality out of it, turn it into a treatable condition. Everyone wins. You can still have drugs as illegal, but if you are busted with pot, coke, or any other type of drug posession then you go to rehab, not jail.

My friends,

I am writing to you today to ask for a little help. It seems we have a church that is in need of some transportation. It is not a huge church, but it has the spirit of GOD, and many wonderful people attend this small church. The lady who started this church has been talking about their choir of kids who are becoming known statewide as true performers and are in need of a van, mini bus etc. They are often asked to perform all over the state at churches, or functions and this puts quite a burden on those in the congregation who have large vehicles. At times they must caravan using five or six vehicles forcing the owners to have to put out large fuel bills to support this popular group of performers who do not charge for performances. If you wish to help, with a good heart then please write down this information and do what you can for them. It sure would be much appreciated. I would not even mention it if I thought there was any way possible that the donations would be used for ANYTHING other than transportation. Listen to your heart, pray on it please and I am sure you will know what to do. Thank you my friends! God Bless!

The picture we had displayed is so graphically ominpresent that after a week I thought we should now remove it because we do not want to be inflammatory, with anti this or that stuff. It is the most HORRIBLE story I know of because it would seem that both the child and the photographer suffered the same fate. One by nature and one by his own volition.

Okay now I am really PO'd! I can not belive what I am hearing......A newly elected congressman, Rep.-elect Keith Ellison, D-Minn., The first Muslim elected to Congress says he will take his oath of office using a Quran once owned by Thomas Jefferson to make the point that "religious differences are nothing to be afraid of." NO, IT IS SOMETHING TO BE VERY AFRAID OF! It is the first time in history of our free nation an individual will be sworn in to Allah and not GOD. Does anyone else in the entire wonder web think this is a bad thing other than Biji and I? Does it not clearly state in the bible that there is no other GOD than I? *****Hello! ******

THE QURAN IS VERY SPECIFIC IN WHAT IT SAYS:

The First is that the Quran permits the Muslim to beat his wife. Banish her from bed. Don't have sex with her, because this is punishment.

The second is the scientific proof, and I mean that in the Bible you will have many scientific proofs. Well, the discovery that the planet Earth is a sphere, you know, before Copernicus, Galileo, the people said, "No, no, no! Planet Earth is flat!" And when Galileo said it is a sphere, they said, "No. You are a heretic!" But the Bible, before Galileo, in Isaiah chapter 40:22, "It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth" [Is:40:22] He said that the planet Earth is a sphere. This is contrary to the Quran. In the Quran we read that they do they not consider how the Earth has been flattened out, and that is in surat Al Ghashiah, surat 88, and verse 20 “(Do they not look) to the earth how it has been surfaced and planed?” [Qur'an 88:20] . Look at this also “And when the earth is flattened and it throws off what is in it and gets emptied” [Qur'an 84:3].`` In 1993, the supreme religious authority of Saudi Arabia, Sheik Abdel-Aziz ibn Baaz, issued a edict, or fatwah, declaring that the world is flat. Anyone of the round persuasion does not believe in God and should be punished.''

LAST BUT NOT LEAST! The Koran incites the Muslims to fight, and verse after verse after verse, there is a verse in Sourat Al Anfal, "Oh prophet Mohammed, incites the Muslims to fight. And then again, he said, "Fight those people of the Scripture." Who are the people of the Scripture? The Jews and the Christians who have the Bible. "Fight them, until they are converted to Islam, or they have to pay a high tax. If they want to maintain their religion as Jews and Christians, they have to pay to the Muslim government a special tax to keep their religion." And one verse after another, "Kill the Jews, kill the Christians."And I want to tell you something. The one who fights the Christians and the Jews, and is killed, is the one who will be guaranteed total forgiveness of the sins, and a direct way to Paradise. IT IS THE ONLY GUARANTEE GIVEN IN THE QURAN TO GET TO PARADISE! (Surat number 19, verse 66, "And a man says, when I am dead, shall I then be raised up alive? Does not man, remember, that we created him before, while he was nothing? So by your lord, surely we shall gather them, human beings, together, and also the devil." Human beings and the devil will be gathered, and also the devil with them. "Then we shall bring them round hell, on their knees.") Verse 71 states "There is not one of you that will pass over hell." And this is why you see those people who made the suicide bombing, and things like that. Why do they put a bomb and kill themselves? Because they think that when they kill themselves that way, they will be headed directly to Heaven, I mean to Paradise. And when they go to Paradise, each one of them will have 100 women!

THIS IS AN ABOMINATION THAT I FOR ONE WILL NOT STAND FOR! STAND UP AMERICA! IT IS TIME TO QUIT IGNORING THE STATE OF THE UNION! IN GOD WE TRUST AND ALL THE PRINCIPLES THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED UPON ARE AT STAKE.

Hope you all had a wonderful christmas and a happy new year. I have gotten my dander up after the last two days and need to vent to you all. Maybe I am off base but maybe I'm not.

You know......democrat, republican, liberatarian, green party or raddish loving baldies,... whatever.... It is really just another way to divide us as a country. How can we stand together if we are apart? What common ground do we have? We are Americans!......Okay..........We are americans: lets see let me counts how many different types of americans we are....... I know it was a long list. but thats the point. United we stand is kinda silly when we really don't truly live it. I mean even in BFE ( YOU FIGURE IT OUT) There are the middle class, the upper middle class and the well done crowd. The line is clearly drawn, if you live north of the highway and on the west end then you are seen as okay. Even get better service, and most of the rest of the caucasian citizens live on the north side of the highway. But if you do not then you are frowned upon even by those highly trained and paid employees of Walmart. Who will scowl at anyone or even ignore anyone who does not live on the northern side of the highway. I still have not figured out how they even know. Most but certainly not all of the hispanic and black residents are on the other side of the highway residing in the south east and just east of the central part of town. The lines are clearly drawn.

The point I am getting at is over the history of the world, not one civilization ever survived by being so seperatist

I believe you all must humor me today. I need to say something to my wife in this wonderful medium I abuse at every turn. lol!

Don't worry if you have problems! Which is easy to say until you are in the midst of a really big one, I know. But the only people I am aware of who don't have troubles are gathered in little neighborhoods. Most communities have at least one. We call them cemeteries.

If you're breathing, you have difficulties. It's the way of life. And believe it or not, most of your problems may actually be good for you! Let me explain.

Maybe you have seen the Great Barrier Reef, stretching some 1,800 miles from New Guinea to Australia. Tour guides regularly take visitors to view the reef. On one tour, the guide was asked an interesting question. "I notice that the lagoon side of the reef looks pale and lifeless, while the ocean side is vibrant and colorful," a traveler observed. "Why is this?"

The guide gave an interesting answer: "The coral around the lagoon side is in still water, with no challenge for its survival. It dies early. The coral on the ocean side is constantly being tested by wind, waves, storms - surges of power. It has to fight for survival every day of its life. As it is challenged and tested it changes and adapts. It grows healthy. It grows strong. And it reproduces." Then he added this telling note: "That's the way it is with every living organism."

That's how it is with people. Challenged and tested, we come alive! Like coral pounded by the sea, we grow. Physical demands can cause us to grow stronger. Mental and emotional stress can produce tough-mindedness and resiliency. Spiritual testing can produce strength of character and faithfulness.

So, you have problems - no problem! Just tell yourself, "There I grow again!"

Should we dare to wish you a Merry Christmas!

It is high time that we put Christ back into christmas. A quote from a famous man and many not so famous. Fifty years later that plea is far more relevant today than it was back then.

Indeed all across the country, debates are brewing over everything from nativity scenes in town squares, to christmas carols in schools. My friends the end time is near. Joshua Carden an attorney with the christian legal organization states "We're seeing a systemic attempt by groups to scrub christmas from the public square." Atleast that is what he told FOX news. The manger scene now includes Mary, Joesph, the baby Jesus, a manger, cattle, shepherds, sheep, wise men, camels, a host of angels and an army of lawyers. How wonderful! Because christians will not get up off their duffs we have to have the blood sucking lawyers represent those of us who really care!

Yes those of us who really care! You care? Put up a sign in your yard today about "Don't take the Christ out of Christmas!" I AM! I will die as my Jesus did. A martyr for christ is a perfect expression of love. Do you fight for what you believe in or do you cave in? DO YOU REALLY CARE? EMAIL ME IF YOU WANT A PICTURE!

Our upscale entry into the department store not only does not carry jeans for a thirty year old woman anymore cause its regional but.....The salvation army is not allowed there by the doors anymore because they ring "christmas bells".

LET IT SINK IN!.... Because they ring christmas bells.

Been to Best Buy lately?

Why do they only say Happy Holidays? Because they removed all references to Christmas so that they would not offend the tweny percent of the population that does not celebrate christmas. WHAT ABOUT THE EIGHTY PERCENT WHO DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whataburger "did" decorate their restraunts. This year the corporate office didn't send any stores any decorations. No reason given.........

School sent home to junior a list of accepted "HOLIDAY SONGS" We wish you a splendid holiday was among them. We wish you a "splendid holiday". Never heard that one. It goes: We wish you a merry christmas, We wish you a merry christmas, ................ Insert the words Splendid Holiday where christmas used to be.

This is political correctness taken to the extreme and I am fighting mad! You know if we try to make it all right for everyone.......IT WON'T BE RIGHT FOR ANYONE!

MY SON WILL SEE THAT I STAND FOR MY BELIEFS AND STAND BY MY CONVICTIONS AND I AM NOT AFRAID OF ANYONE!

We truly hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving! Ours was good as the Dallas Cowboys won another turkey day game, but let's not even go anywhere near the post turkey day debacle with the University of Texas Longhorns. What a disappointment. Well I guess we should start selling thousand dollar game consoles. I mean who would have thought that people would be in riots, and in armed altercations over a video game system! What ever happened to the holiday spirit of giving? What happened to doing good things for others? I guess it's old fashioned sentimetal garbage these days. The spirit of multicultural, non religious, get what you want at any cost, what holiday is it really? shopping is upon us! I miss the days of singing "silent night" by a fire drinking hot chocolate or even that nasty egg stuff! Carroling in the neighborhood, eating home made cookies, volunteering in a soup kitchen, and going to midnight mass. The excitment, the preparation for that one morning when dreams really come true. All the world felt so peaceful and joyous on that beautiful day. I am so tired of the question" Did you have good christmas?" Meaning how much stuff did you get! Life is more than just stuff! Life is about relationships, and the people in it. Life is about living your life to the guidelines presented in the bible. Yes I know its hard. I know its much easier to do it later....tomorrow or when you need divine attention, like " Please god remove this hangover and I will never drink again." How many of us (myself included) have prayed this simple prayer while worshipping at the porcelean alter? How many of us stopped?!!!!!! Being a christian or someone who believe's does not make us perfect. Let me say that again...DOES NOT MAKE US PERFECT! For myself personally it means I try harder, it means I do try to do the right thing. (I don't always succeed) It means we donate to good charities, we give money to churches (I am working on that one too and it is a struggle) It is very hard today in the world of media ministry's to find a good solid church. It means we don't do drugs, we don't drink to excess, we stay away from the internet pornography, the gambling stuff including sports or even television that confuses the issues or makes you want to talk about what a certain celebrity is wearing at the Emmys....... Instead of how many children in our neighborhood went hungry tonight? Christmas should be a time that no one goes without something. No one is hungry, no one is alone, and no one should be forgotten. Including the man we have apparently forgotten in this marvelous celebration. JESUS CHRIST! His walk, his life and his teachings. Yeah.. I miss the days of a more simple time, of a kinder more gentle time. Now with that said..... Buy a Hercules Head Chopper sword! (LOL!)

The freedom we all enjoy in this country is a true gift from God. But what is freedom? It is the responsibility to do what is right, not the right to do as you please. In the news, we have heard a lot about Hollywood stars that are against the war in Iraq. Throughout the course of American history, this nation has remained free, not because of movie stars and liberal activists, but because of brave men and women in the Armed Forces who were willing to fight to the death for our freedom. The Bible says, “Greater love hath no man than he lay down his life for a friend.” As freedom loving Americans we should give our military honor and acknowledgement, and not let their lives be in vain. We have remained silent too long. Let us rise up in righteous rage against these pampered, overpaid movie stars. Let us as Americans stand shoulder to shoulder, united and indivisible, supporting our President and the men and women who proudly serve in the U.S Armed Forces.

Why do you want freedom and what are you going to do with it?

There is no freedom without community. We need each other because our lives are linked together. What affects me also affects you. We cannot run from each other, we must embrace each other. Christians are not doing a good job of “loving your neighbor as yourself.” Too many churches today are segregated by race or economics. However, when you open the Bible, you only read about “the church” of Jesus Christ. What good is our freedom of speech, unless you have something to say? It is completely empty if all you do is criticize, lie and accuse others. Sure the Constitution of the United States says that we can say what we want, but what does God say? Revelation 21:8, “All liars shall have their part in the lake of fire and brimstone which is the second death.” What benefit is the freedom of worship unless we decide to worship? In this country, we have the freedom to attend church on Sunday, but why are so many churches empty? Obviously, it is because people choose not to attend. Freedom requires that you make choices. Your choices have gotten you wherever you are right now. Americans have always been willing to pay any price for freedom. If you don’t believe it, then look at the many costs of freedom. One is divorce, or the freedom from fidelity. According to U.S. News & World Reports, today in America, two out of every five children do not live with their real fathers. The drug culture is freedom from reality, insecurity and worry. Drugs cost America countless dollars and gives us people who will never live productive lives until they get off the drugs. All drugs and not just the illegal ones. Tobacco (guilty) Alcohol, prescriptions, etc... Let’s continue to look at our nation closely. We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism. We have endorsed sodomy and called it an alternative lifestyle. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare, for those that are able to work but refuse to work. In the name of “choice,” we have murdered the unborn. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building “self esteem.” We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it “freedom of expression.” It is time for everyone including the church to say “enough is enough!” Freedom will never come at the expense of conscience. Conscience is a God-given instrument of discernment so we can determine right from wrong. What is right....and what is wrong in your life?
